Making Star Wars has come up with a sketch of the small bird-like creatures that inhabit the planet of Ahch-To (the planet Luke has been hiding on that we saw at the end of The Force Awakens).
If you don’t know, the Porgs inhabit the island and are sacred creatures, or so the report from MSW says. Apparently, there is a connection between the Force and these Porgs. It’s also rumored that Luke cares after these creatures as well. We will also have a moment or two between the Porgs and Chewbacca and R2-D2. I expect this is to lighten things up during or after scenes of intense drama and focus.
What would a Star Wars movie be like without cute, exotic creatures? I, for one, am looking forward to seeing them in action, although it doesn’t seem to be a main part of the story at this time, but I could be proven wrong this December when The Last Jedi barrels into theaters.
