At the Solo premiere last night, The Nerdist interviewed Jon, who mentioned casually that his upcoming “TV” series will be set 7 years after Return of the Jedi and will focus on a group of new characters (though of course, legacy characters are bound to show up).
Favreau also confirmed that he has already written half of season one and that they will be using “cutting edge technology” a la The Jungle Book, which Favreau directed back in 2016.
Personally, I cant wait to see this show as it may serve as a true, direct sequel to ROTJ, not to mention that the time period between Jedi and The Force Awakens is so ripe for storytelling! Now if only we could get him to pronounce Wookiee correctly.
